New First Call at DP World Tarragona

23-02-2009
Following the dynamic expansion of destinations offered from the DP WORLD terminal in Tarragona, for the first time the MAF service (Med Africa Line), jointly presented by the COSCO and ZIM shipping companies, has called at these facilities.
Entry into this line’s rotation has been carried out by the Liberian container ship San Vicente, a 166m long vessel with a capacity of 1,512 TEU.
Following an operation of 140 movements between loading and unloading, the ship will continue en route to the line’s next call at the Tin Can Island Port in Lagos (Nigeria).
The MAF service is covered by 2 ships (San Vicente and Samaria) with a frequency of between 19 and 24 days. The route has port of calls in Genoa and Naples (Italy), Tarragona, Tin Can Island (Nigeria), Tema (Ghana), and Abidjan (Ivory Coast).
Thus, the DP WORLD Tarragona terminal continues to precisely meet the stages of its expansion project that will culminate in 2012 with the commissioning of the expansion of its infrastructures.
