The Port Authority and DP World Tarragona present the extension of Andalusia Wharf and the terminal.

On 11 October of this year, the extension project for the Andalusia Wharf was presented, which will be the platform for the DP World Tarragona terminal extension. The intervention of the Tarragona Port Authority enables the operations platform extension of the Andalusia Wharf and thereby gaining more than 175,000 m2 of new usable area from the sea, which means an extension of more than half a million square metres. After the extension of a new mooring wharf of 1056m with a depth of 16m, the terminal will have a storage yard of 24.7 Ha With more than 6,000 conventional slots and nearly 200 reefers, accesses with 10 entrance/exit points, a load rupture area of 2.5 Ha, a rail terminal with 6 tracks and an additional area of 3.1 Ha for a car park and special loads. On this basis, DP World Tarragona will supply the terminal with new and more modern infrastructure to enable it to manage traffic of between 1 and 1.5 million TEU’s annually. The investment anticipated for the project will exceed 50 million Euro and adaptation work is due to be completed in 2012.
